Miss Dior Couture: What would you do for love?

“Tiens, voilà Miss Dior!”

Tonight’s Dior Beauty event in Bucharest 🦢 was a deep dive into the iconic Miss Dior. As it was and as it always will be, forever a love inspired scent: youthful, in some versions - blooming and breezy, in others, seductive and luscious. 

We arrived at Baneasa to join what we know is one of their biggest yearly event in Bucharest, always celebrating one of the scents with custom calligraphy, good music, history of the heros and made to measure cocktails. Everybody dressed to the nines, as always, attended: journalists, bloggers, magazines, content creators and friends of the house. Gotta say I love how Alice manages to get everyone together, throw an amazing party be the hostess with the mostest and also make it look effortless. “Let loose, enjoy the moment, the result, congratulations on everything Alice” I told her when we met at the Dior Cafe pop-up she and her team have literally popped up in the Atrium. 

Eh, but tonight is about Alice’s wonderland - DIOR Beauty. Let me tell you a bit more about the history behind Miss Dior, it’s name and heritage. First, it was the first perfume of the house, one that inspired many others to come. We discovered the original version, more deep and vintage, as you would imagine tonight in Baneasa. It’s actually laying around on my nightstand as we speak… as I am writing, on blog, again, can you imagine? 

‘Miss Dior’ was inspired by and named after Catherine Dior, Christian Dior’s younger sister and a decorated French Resistance heroine. Catherine was gentle and strong, fierce and delicate at the same time. She shared a deep love of flowers and gardening with her brother Christian, later becoming a flower cultivator and rose dealer in Provence whose flowers and Grasse roses influenced the scent’s profile. 

Here’s a photo of Alice and I to break the suspense, absolutely loved her look and couldn’t stop staring at her pumps (not featured bere, but later) a pair of black kitten heels. 

While Christian was looking for a name for the perfume, Catherine entered the room and said: “Tiens, voilà Miss Dior!” - here comes Miss Dior. And so we know it to date. They say at the launch of “The New Look” collection, the couture house was filled with a “preview” of Miss Dior fragrance scent wafting in the air that momentous day. You can imagine the theatrics of the show and how everything came together under the wand of Christian, imagining everything, from the revolutionary new look style to the scent. 

A fascinating journey, a perfume to give and to hold (and as said I have one on hold for Perla), one that many young girls begin this journey of perfume-loving with, as it’s precious, fresh, youthfull and honestly the bottle jusy gives DIOR. Maybe you had your shade of Miss Dior in highschool. You know what I mean. Powerful and sweet, strong and gentle, all in one. 

Enjoying the sunset on my way to pick up Raul and off to the event with Burning Flames of The Weeknd in the background. I kinda like it when the sunset comes and life feels like a movie. Dressing up makes me feel ready, happy and social for some reason.

They were giving away little ribbons (lost mine on the way back 🫠) spritzed with your favorite version of the perfumes. Tied up to your wrist, they became a conversation spark in the night and everyone was wearing one. 

It was a pleasure to discover more about the House, the different facades of Miss Dior and also this @nissa_official deux piece was too good not to wear again for Dior, this time, toned down, missy style. Rose lemonade anyone? 🥀
